Going by the tone of the story it seems they haven’t been taken but they’ve gone to London of their own free will?

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 18/06/2024 11:19

It's very odd - no information that they were with any adults at any point, also they specifically say that the younger two are related but not how they know/why they were with the teenager. Feels like they are being deliberately vague for some reason. And it's quite a long walk from Thorpe Park to the train station in Staines, which is the direction they were apparently heading in.

Blibblab · 18/06/2024 11:20

Is the 14 year old their sister/cousin or babysitter I wonder? No mention of any adult supervision. I certainly wouldn't be letting a 9 and 7 year old wander round a theme park with only a young teenager for supervision - related or not.

Theseers · 18/06/2024 11:21

Maybe the older child lives in London or has some knowledge of how to get around

it is odd, no mention of an adult and yesterday was a school day

The youngest one is only 9, really hope they are all found soon

So very strange. Definitely something more that the police aren't giving out as there seems very little information.

Absolutely not.
Hope they are found safe and well.
The visuals show the influence of antisocial media- The pouts at such a young age.
😟

AnneShirleysNewDress · 18/06/2024 11:25

Hopefully, they are all found safe and well soon. Surely the younger ones wouldn't have gotten in to Thorpe Park without an adult?

Theremedy · 18/06/2024 11:26

I think they are likely to be looked after children?

Very odd, I hope they are found soon. It’s very worrying:

Floralnomad · 18/06/2024 11:27

Hope they are located quickly , wrt yesterday being a school day that is irrelevant as any day that you go anywhere there always seems to be an abundance of children of various ages and it’s certainly been more obvious since covid .

CurryOnRegardless · 18/06/2024 11:27

And not reported missing until 7pm?

mitogoshi · 18/06/2024 11:28

There's obviously more to this story, something delicate, but they needed to get their photos into the media hence the alert put out. Seems quite odd but with the full story may make more sense

Yes I imagine they’re children in care. Hopefully they’re not going to London to meet someone they’re being kept safe from!

PuttingDownRoots · 18/06/2024 11:33

Seems strange not to mention if they were with any adults... you might notice a teenager with two younger children alone, as its unusual, but not if they were with an adult.

Seeline · 18/06/2024 11:38

Why are people assuming the children are in care?
Surely at least the 9 &7 yo would have been with an adult if that were the case?
And would a care setting arrange an outing in a school day?

oakleaffy · 18/06/2024 11:40

A very experienced foster family where we used to live ( now retired) said young teenaged girls were very hard to keep safe ( and that was before the days of smartphones)
They are often targeted by unsavoury men who can sense a vulnerable child at 100 metres.

kikisparks · 18/06/2024 11:46

That’s awful, youngest is just 7. Hope they are found safe and well.

Chersfrozenface · 18/06/2024 11:53

How did they get into Thorpe Park? Its policy is no under 12s admitted unless accompanied by an adult aged 18 years or over. The eldest doesn't look 18 to me.

I don't think people are assuming. They said could be. The report does not give much information. So people are going to guess what the situation may be.

If they are in care it could be. They are not yet in school locally . They could be educated at home. The school could have had an inset day. But its also odd there's no mention of adults with them at thorpe park.

We can guess all day long . Just hope they are OK

DontThinkJustDo · 18/06/2024 11:54

It's so scary that 3 children can just vanish. I hope they are found safe and well.

I know 2 teens girls who were in care. Bad things did happen to them sadly. They are young adults now.

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 18/06/2024 12:02

It was also my first thought that they are looked after children given that they've specified only that the younger two are related. Hope they're all found safe and well.

SurreyMumOfOne · 18/06/2024 12:11

It's so concerning, and obviously there are questions about how this has happened, but all in good time.

A few people have posted on local Facebook posts that they saw them and have them on CCTV in Chertsey, which the other way from Staines.

I hope they're safe and well and food soon.

mumbleberry · 18/06/2024 12:26

I assumed they were all (looked after?) siblings and off to see mum or similar who they weren't supposed to be seeing.

Is the older girl not related to the younger two?

The police are saying "The two youngest children are related".

We can infer that the older girl is not related to them.
