7 month old has never rolled. Should I be worried?

Dd is 7 months old now and has never rolled either way. She has been sitting unsupported since 5 months however.
She does have a little bit of tummy time but she hates it and usually just screams the whole time.
Is this something I should talk to the HV about or is it okay if she never rolls?

If they can sit up why would they roll? Both my eldest and youngest had reflux so hated been on their tummies. They went from sitting position arms forward to crawl, no rolling. Please don't worry if your baby misses a step x

My DS would roll and roll but struggled to sit unsupported until he was about 7 months. Your little one may never roll. But that doesn't mean she's not progressing.

My DS never crawled despite encouragement. He just got up and walked. Sometimes they miss a step.

I'm sure she's fine. What a cutie sitting up so young!

My son didn't roll until he was about 7 months old, didn't crawl until 12 months and didn't walk until 16 months. He's now perfectly fine and a speed demon on his balance bike. Some babies just take a bit longer to get there.

DD rolled once and even then I don't think she meant to do it! She sat unaided at just under 6 months. She managed to do plenty of rolling in her sleep later down the line! Why would they roll when they can sit and learn how to lean to reach for things!

Thank you everyone! Feel a bit silly now, I don't know what I was concern about! 😆

Both of mine rolled precisely once at about 5 months and were so horrified by it they never did it again. 🤣

Crawled at 10 months, walked at 14 months on the dot (both of them- bizarrely!)

I wouldn't worry. Unless there is something seriously wrong, the innate drive to movre, stand, crawl and eventually walk, is really strong.

Separation anxiety is a part of it I've always thought, and that kicks in around 12 mths. They start to realise you're a separate person and this really motivates them to get moving so they can follow you everywhere and be sure you never forget them!

Mine hated tummy time too.

I'm not surprised - if you imagine being laid in your tummy for what seems like ages - but being powerless to move to a different position where you can look around comfortably and see what's going on and where mum is - I'd hate it too.
