Do you have a Community Fridge near you?

And if so, do you use it? I do. I've saved myself ££ from saving food that would otherwise go to waste. I always grab a loaf of bread, veggies and fruit. My freezer is full of yellow label meat so I work my evening meals around what veg I pick up to go with it and lots of healthy soups for lunches. Contrary to popular belief, this food would not otherwise be going to those it need, it is literally food from supermarkets that would otherwise go in the bin. My local fridge usually have M&S, Waitrose, Gails and Tesco food. And cakes and flowers too for an extra treat.

There’s two near us. One opens at 8:30am next to the local primary school and will encourage parents to pop in. They ask for a donation for their food bank but any leftovers they drop into the school reception. I didn’t visit for years as a presumed it for just for those who are in need. They regularly post on FB that they need it gone as they don’t want to turn away donations from the local m&s incase they stop receiving them.

I’m guessing this is why stores don’t really do yellow stickers at crazy low prices these days.
