What "type" of person drives you crazy?

I was describing a woman at work to my DH earlier, and he said "oh I know that type, I work with a guy like that".

For context, this "type" of person (Erika in fact, hence the username):

Thinks Farrage has got a few good ideas actually, and he will definitely be getting her vote.

Doesn't think women should return to work full time after maternity leave because focussing on your career and not your children is just selfish.

Thinks that the people in boats should "go back to where they came from" and "stop taking our jobs" but "no wonder they come here, with all the free handouts we give them" (simultaneously, apparently)

Relishes in other people's unhappiness and uses it as some kind of horrible gossipy currency, ever terminal illness.

Has gleefully welcomed her (feckless) poor darling adult son back home after a messy divorce because his wife has treated him so terribly and he never should have married her in the first place. She's hoping he'll go for full custody of his daughter so that her former daughter in law can't poison her further (metaphorically, I assume).

I know I should be bigger, but she's just such a caricature of bigotry she really gets up my nose. She epitomises everything I dislike, all rolled into one person.

I wondered if anyone has one individual who really sums up everything they dislike? Bonus points if you name them!

People pleasers.

People who are boring or ignorant or who talk only about themselves. People who don’t ask anything about you. People who have no interest in what’s happening in the country. I spoke to someone last week who didn’t know which political party was currently in government. I just stood there shocked. People who brag. People who think they’re wealthy when they don’t have a pot to piss in but someone lent them money for a mortgage. People who say “I’m mad me”. No you’re not; you’re an unfunny twat. People who couldn’t give a shit about litter everywhere. I don’t like anyone much

Self-declared "foodies" who can't abide having a simple meal and make a big song and dance about planning meals on days out, as if the rest of us live exclusively off gruel and Richmond sausages.

Fussy eaters who make their restrictions other people's problem, or go on about how they couldn't possibly eat xyz.

Any variation of “I’m just honest me, I tell it like it is”

I have a MIL like that. "I'm just speaking the truth; if they don't like it, well they know what they can do...." - No, you're just bloody rude!

Work colleagues who wax lyrical about the weekly church services they attend and whose answer to any issue in work is that they will ‘pray to the lord for support’ but who also treat their fellow colleagues like total crap most of the time, lack empathy for everyone and believe they are redeemed just by attending church every Sunday.

ahh, I see you have met my brother and SIL!

People who are mean both financially and in spirit. Miserable bastards!
People with main character energy/loudmouths, the world doesn't revolve around you!
Professional 'God's own county' Yorkshiremen. No-one gives a shit what county you're from.

RaraRachael · 27/06/2024 12:56

People who can't just choose something that's actually on the menu.
I have a friend who will always ask if she can have a bigger portion oc something that's a starter, as her main course then gets sulky when she's told No.

Any variation of “I’m just honest me, I tell it like it is”

In my experience, people who have this as their mantra generally can dish it but not take it.

Mine is men who refer to themselves as "blunt" and "to the point". Usually a rude, nasty fucker.
