Small dog owners: what sort of dog bed would you recommend?

Hi all!

I'm looking to buy a new dog bed to keep at my partner's for my french bulldog and I like the look of one that has a flat base (picture 1), and it says it's soft foam, but would you rather get a more squidgy one (picture 2)?

Or do dogs not really mind either way?

I know I prefer a firm mattress but not sure if my little guy would have a preference 😂

I've voted for the grey squidgy bed but one of my two sleeps in between the two sets of pillows on our bed, and the other has a crate in the bedroom with lots of old sweatshirts and a fleecy blanket. His door has never been closed but he loves that old crate and takes his toys in there to snuggle with.

Downstairs they've each got a sheepskin rug (small) that they love. They do wash on a wool setting and dry quite quickly.

They've never had actual beds.

I have a few like the grey one but they mostly sleep on my bed or in a crate, door open , full of blankets.

My little guys loved the first style.

They also sell plush soft huts that have a sort of canopy over the sleeping part; they loved that.

One that washes! As long as it goes in the washing machine and comes out fine!
