Hi, has anyone had any recent experience of passport waiting time?

My husband renewed his recently and had it within a week of returning his.

Kitkat1523 · 17/06/2024 13:37

I just renewed mine….I’m in NW ….. 14 days from online submission to receiving in post

PartnersInCrime · 17/06/2024 13:38

Within a few days, in the last fortnight

BusyCM · 17/06/2024 13:42

So both renewals? Will be a week or thereabouts.

Panicmode1 · 17/06/2024 13:44

We've just done exactly this and they were both back within the week.

gratefulheart · 17/06/2024 13:58

I was surprised how quick they are at the moment. A renewal for me and 2 DCs first ones, and they were all back in a week.

Child renewal within a fortnight

gratefulheart · 17/06/2024 15:07

Thank you! Are these all relatively recently? As in.. the past couple of weeks?

Ordered mine (two child first passports) 4th June, just had message to say they’ve been approved and they’ll let me know when they’re sent. This included receiving documents (birth certificates)

Yes, end of May/ start of June.

10 days from posting old passports off to getting new ones back.

allofamuddle · 17/06/2024 16:02

Amazing - and if the photo uploads of pictures that you took yourselves said 'good' were there any problems or did that all work out ok?

LordFarquart38 · 17/06/2024 16:09

approved the same day as the interview, received a few days later. this was first passport for teen dc, within the last month

We're in the process of renewing both mine and husband's expired passports plus two new ones for our young children. Taken all the photos ourselves, all classed as 'good' on the application and not had a problem with any of them.

Mine was done back in April and I had it back in about a week and a half. My husbands took a bit longer due to him having to declare his old passport as lost so had to go through the photo confirmation process.

Our kids ones, I posted off their birth certificates last Friday. We've had one passport delivered over the weekend, so total time from application to delivery was two weeks, hopefully will get the other one this week.

elQuintoConyo · 17/06/2024 18:16

10 days between receiving my old passport (I'm in EU) and getting my new one. I received it 10th of this month. Amazing speed! No problem at all with the unloaded photo.

FitAt50 · 17/06/2024 18:28

Got my renewal last week - took less than 5 days. Totally impressed.

mitogoshi · 17/06/2024 18:31

Apply today, should be fine - but if in 4 weeks there's still an issue you can chase it up - I did

TheGirlWhoLived · 17/06/2024 20:14

Yeah my two photos of the kids were classed as good. They went through fine. Ds is 3 so that one took some getting tbh

allofamuddle · 18/06/2024 08:18

THanks everyone - I am now massively calmer about the whole thing - had visions of the passports not arriving in time and the holiday being cancelled! Does anyone know what happens if they have not arrived in time?

FlakyWriter · 27/06/2024 11:32

Hi, has anyone recently ordered a uk adult passport as a first time applicant.

I recently done this and I booked a holiday for the 18th this month and got an interview with the passport office to approve my identity. They’ve told me it is a 7-10 working day deliver but that wouldn’t be in time for my holiday!!

not much i can do about it now but has anyone got a rough idea how long there’s took to come so i can stop stressing

allofamuddle · 27/06/2024 11:53

Sorry can't help with that?

Mine was my son moving from a child to an adult - but think that was classed as a renewal? Didn't need an interview?

If it helps - the passports arrived the next two days after they said that they were approved - so not 7-10 days - the whole process was 8 days from application to arriving at my house. super speedy!
