Can anyone help with redundancy?

Morning all,

Just been told I am being made redundant. There have been whispers for a few weeks so whilst upsetting and worrying it hasn't come as a big surprise.

I have worked for my employer for 9 years. They've told me that I will be paid 9 weeks redundancy pay and a 30 day notice period however the government website suggests that my notice period should be a week for every year of service. I'm trying to get through to ACAS to clarify this but I've been on hold for ages.

I have a meeting with HR later on so just trying to get everything prepared to discuss this with them. Can anyone in the know please advise what notice period I should be paid for?

Sorry this is happening. This is a useful website to put your details in and calculate how much pay you should get: https://www.gov.uk/calculate-your-redundancy-pay

With regards to notice period, it is one week per year of service if you have worked for your employer between 2 and 12 years so, 9 weeks notice period.

Thank you both. Spoke to ACAS and they have confirmed that is indeed 9 weeks notice and 9 weeks pay, which definitely takes some worry away.
Really appreciate your responses x
