What are these black specks that keep appearing??

Help!

I thought these black specks were dropped seed or something and my husband said they kept reappearimg after being wiped away. Turns out he's right 😬😬😬.

Its always the same place near the back door. Is it tiny poop? What's living in my house?! Or what on earth is it?!

Spider poop? Look up.

insect poo or similar. Do you have flies?

Are they stuck on - suggests insect poop

Loose grains then maybe ants - we had similar, tiny ants living in the wall cavity.

I would say it's most likely to be the excavation detritus from ants. There might be a tiny gap between the door frame and the outside and when ants burrow they displace the material they're burrowing in. Think of them digging a tiny hole and chucking the soil onto your floor.

I've sprayed and wiped it off but it was loose. I genuinely thought it was tiny seeds originally.

I can't see ants but they do come in once a year it seems and we do put down ant powder and they go til next year. Normally when they come in they're very obvious though!! As in appear everywhere!

Spiders.. We have some I can see a small one but we've always had a few. It would be a lot of poop for one spider wouldn't it?

I am glad it's not tiny mice... (my brain was not really working out how it could be just freaking out here what I've got living with me!)

What should I put down? How do I find out?

So put ant powder down? It is consistently in the same patch by the door. And really does look like spilt tiny seeds (my garden box is nearby hence me not realising until husband kept pointing out!)

Too tiny for a mouse, in my experience.

Please don't put ant powder down. It's just a little spider 🕷️. Catch it in a pot and rehome it outside.
