Do you mean indigestion... Or gastric reflux? (Indigestion... in abdominal area - gastric reflux, in high upper chest/throat)

I have gastric reflux and have to take medication for it otherwise it keeps me awake at night. All the foods/drinks you have mentioned are spiced (pepper) or acidic and they would definitely give me painful reflux. I'm fine with meds (omeprazole, low dose) but gaviscon doesn't touch it. Foods I definitely couldn't eat when not on meds are acidic (onions, juice etc, ) spicy (curry, anything peppery) and anything which I find repeats on me, like peppers. I also need to raise the head of my bed - definitely can't lie flat.

it's worth thinking about whether it is indigestion or gastric reflux. My omeprazole is prescribed, but there are lots of over the counter meds that can help if it's only occasional/mild. Ask your local pharmacist if necessary. Tums/Rennies or gaviscon are probably the first line of defence - along with avoiding things you know your body isn't going to like in the evening.

For indigestion -I can't really help, sorry. Check with your pharmacist before taking any OTC meds if you have pre-existing conditions and/or are already taking other meds.

I can't even look at pastry anymore, or white wine. Not worth the pain. The orange juice wont be great either.

Nexium OTC helps but you need to take it continuously, not when symptomatic.

I've had this for years, nightly meds helps but still need to be a bit careful. Eating earlier is really important and wine means problems!

i generally dont drink wine, particularly not white, thats why i mixed it with the orange juice.
will try and eat earlier, thanks very much
