Photo booth help

Has anyone made a ‘photo booth’? They’re at most events and weddings.

I recently hired one for an event and it was awesome. Back drop, tripod with a light, box and an iPad with a countdown to each picture being taken.

Then it must have wireless beamed the prints to a small printer printing 4 pictures to a 4x6 print.

I want to cobble something together for the PTA. I’m reasonably techy - has anyone managed to do this? I could ask the company I used but suspect they would get miffed at me asking how I can copy their business model, even though it would be entirely for amateurs/charity!

It wouldn't be feasible to hire one each time so it's not like we would be depriving a business of custom. Just wondering if a couple of parents could run one and make a few quid for he school.

Hi. I have a Photo Booth business in the US. It's not that hard to do what you are looking to do.
There are a number of items that you'd have to buy and if you are looking to use it for multiple events it may be worth it.

The printers that are used cost around £700 and the required paper anywhere between £100 - £150
You then have to buy the software for the iPad
You also have to buy lighting, props, backdrop, backdrop stand.
Do create the print designs, you'll need someone that is comfortable with software such as Canva or Photoshop.

This is great! Thank you!

Can I ask you some questions? You can DM me if you'd rather not spill trade secrets?

The picture is taken via the iPad, with the countdown, what is the software, may I ask?

Do you know what the printer is called and how it gets there, wirelessly presumably but with its own network so you can use in a marquee?

Props, backdrop and lighting is fine, it's the iPad/picture/printing that is proving to be tricky to get my head around.

4 events a year could raise decent money for the school 🤞

I'm capable of photoshop and canva.
