Recommend a toilet seat that lasts

I’m replacing the toilet seat again (oh how my Saturday nights have gone downhill) It lasted a total of 6 months. Painted ply board was a poor choice I think. It’s paint is cracked. I am constantly replacing toilet seats that break or crack. Please recommend a sturdy one.

Following.
How often do most people replace toilet seats? I swear my parents have had the same one for 10 years but mine crack or get stained after a few months.

Good point. My parents have never changed their toilet seat in my living memory!

Do either of you have a particularly 'raspy arse'. I believe that can wear away the paint, allow moisture to penetrate the underlying surface which in turn leads to cracking and ultimately renders a toilet seat most uncomfortable.

The solution is exfoliate ones rear end vigourusely on a weekly basis or paint the toilet seat with Hammerite.

My ex DH was the toilet seat killer. 2-3 times a year they would need replacing. He had a rather large ass though.

Is there a weight limit on toilet seats and have you exceeded it?

Off to fetch my tin hat ...

No - I’m just a slightly overweight middle aged woman with a smooth ass.

I blame the 3 kids. I need a toilet seat that can survive being slammed and weed on.
