Cooking panic, can anyone help ASAP please

I have people round later for dinner and I am making Sticky toffee apple pudding (slow cooker). I have just realised that the recipe feeds 4 and there are 8 of us. Can I double the recipe and any ideas how long it will take to cook. Thanks

I’m sure it would be fine to double the recipe. Doubt it will make much difference to cooking times in the slow cooker but maybe keep an extra hour in hand in case it needs a bit longer?

I'm not sure what way you are cooking but presumably if you add more ingredients then it will feed more

Why not do sticky toffee pudding and something different

Go to the shops and buy some meringue nests, cream and strawberries and put it all together
Or a nice sorbet

Thanks for your help, I know that they will all want that so I can't really offer an alternative as well. @Moreveganice I will put it on half an hour earlier and hopefully for the best otherwise it will be pancakes and ice cream!
