Made a mistake on insurance claim

Hi, I hit a stationary vehicle this week and did some damage to the side of my car. I wasn’t going to claim initially but now I’ve changed my mind having had a look at the damage.

can I change my mind? I can’t get through to the call centre and I’m really stressing.

Your premium will go up next year. Id work out if its cheaper for you to pay to get your car fixed yourself.
Has the owner of the car you hit made a claim?

You have to declare it anyway, so you may as well claim.

We once made a claim about 3 months after the event. The other party said they would get quotes as he didn't want to go through insurance, there was no damage to our car.
There was no problem from our insurance re a late claim.

Yes the other party is claiming. I had a look at quotes and the amount do the claim doesn’t seem to matter in terms of how much my premiums go up. Unless it’s a write off I suppose?
