So,
When I moved in there was a really nice Howdens kitchen, but the two cupboard doors that face the sun have lifted and split. This is a reasonably new kitchen (I think 4 years)
Howden have discontinued the colour, so my plan to buy two new doors is gone.
I thought of rewrapping, but most companies won’t do two doors, they want to do the whole kitchen (which I would love to do but I can’t afford it) and again, I’m not sure that they would match the colour exactly.
A couple of places have said they can take the doors, strip the laminate off, sand them and paint them to the exact colour/sheen/look of the other cabinets.
Has anyone had this done?? I can’t see how they can, with paint, recreate the vinyl/laminate look (they are Matt not high gloss) and I’m worried I will spend @£300 for two painted doors that frankly look shit!
Really I’d like the whole kitchen rewrapped but I really don’t think I can afford it, but these two doors are an issue as soon they are going to start to peel I think.
