Help- prom suit shopping this morning. DS has no clue neither do I

Taking 16yo ds to get his prom suit this morning. I've asked him what he wants he has got no idea. Probably go to Next but not sure on style /colour etc. Do they wear waistcoats? Not sure what colour shirt either. What's in fashion at the moment? He is tall and skinny

Ds had his prom last year. There was lots of blue and black suits and a few grey checks. Not many wore waistcoats. Ds went with burgundy. We got his of ASOS as he needed a 28" waist and a 30" chest.

We went to Next and got the obligatory blue skinny suit and brown shoes 👍🏻

Blue suit, black or dark brown shoes. Next, M&S, Zara all good. If you do dark blue suit and dark shoes can also be worn for formal job interviews in future. Don’t go too skinny on the fit if you want him to be able to wear it in future - men’s chest sizes continually increase even after they’ve stopped growing in height.
