How is this even possible (weight loss, or lack of!)

Been dieting for about 4/5 weeks now, been having reasonable weekly losses (2/3lb a week) because I'm so fat.

Done nothing different this week, been really good despite being on my period and wanting to eat the world. On the scales this morning I've somehow gained 3lb! How is that even possible?

My TDEE is around 1800 calories (with exercise i burn around 2600-3000), I haven't eaten more than 1500 a day at all this week.

So bloody disheartened, just feel like giving up!

It’s water and bloating from your period. Keep going and in 2 weeks time you’ll be down….it’s the trend not the weight on the day.

Yes I agree, water retention and bloating, period related. It will come off again. Keep up the good work!

Water retention changes throughout the month, hormones make a huge difference to this so it’s probably your period. Hang in there, drink 2L water a day if you can manage it (drinking more water actually helps with retention) and keep going!! Don’t lose heart, really normal to stall.

It happens! I dropped 8 pounds in 6 weeks and then for the past 10 days I have stayed stubbornly the same. Other fluctuations may be obscuring the fat loss, or you may have slipped out of a deficit.

You can either wait it out or kick the deficit up a notch.

If you are calorie counting then double down on the weighing, measuring and logging. Make sure you are as accurate as possible. And maybe try to up your movement. Sometimes an extended deficit makes you more tired and you end up moving less without realising.

Don't go nuts and slash your calories, just tighten up a bit and be patient.

It's frustrating though, believe me I know!!

Be of good cheer, it is as everyone says water retention due to the menstrual cycle. You are doing absolutely brilliantly! You should be so proud of yourself 🙂
