Cold cap treatment can help retain hair.

My chemo was during lockdown and coldcap had been suspended so I lost the lot. Oh well, it gave my stylist a truly blank canvas to work with.🙂 Two years to get back to normal.

Wishing Kate well.

A colleague of mine didn't lose her hair. She's not a close colleague so I haven't had the chance to ask her about it, but I think her diagnosis and treatment were similar to the Princess Of Wales. I know my colleague found the whole thing extremely stressful though, particularly as she had young children. No one, absolutely no one, should have that stress, no matter how wealthy they are.

I suspect Kate has been having similar style tablet chemo as my friend. No hairloss there. But as @LynetteScavo says, still difficult and traumatic, especially with young children.

The first lot of chemo I had actually improved my hair. It looked better than it has ever done in my entire life!

There are many different forms of chemo, and some don't cause hair loss.

Agree, a family member is currently having it and apparently there are some types where this isnt really a side effect. 6 months in and he has his lucious hair still. (And this is the IV line one not the tablets)

Slightly different case but my Grandad had alopecia totalis for years with not a single hair on his body, until he had chemo and suddenly had to start shaving again!

Alternatively, there's always access to unlimited funds and the best wig makers in the world.

Either way, glad to see the update.

I didn't lose my hair because I used the cooling cap when I had chemo for breast cancer. It thinned a bit as did my eyebrows but otherwise I kept almost all of it. Some chemotherapy treatments don't cause loss and some actually cause growth. It depends on the type of cancer and type of therapy.

Must admit I am guilty of thinking this, but we are only human and all have our own thoughts on things. I don’t actually know anyone who has lost their hair through chemotherapy in fact I saw a friend recently whose hair never looked better and she only finished her treatment a few months ago.
