Anyone else suffering with this awful cold that is going around?

Started sneezing middle of last week and feel ghastly still. Several days of awful headaches and so congested. Muscles feel like I have been beaten. Done several covid tests and all negative.

I've usually got a pretty robust immune system but been knocked out by this and it's June too (albeit miserable!)

Anyone else??

I got my first cold in about ten years recently. It knocked me out for sure. I think I caught it on a plane journey, but who knows!

That was a week ago, and it's still lingering around. The cough is driving me insane at night, but I'm fine during the day. I don't have muscle aches but boy am I tired and congested.

I'm sure it will pass eventually, but when you're not used to being ill, it is a pain in the backside (or the head!).

I'm the same but I'm starting to wonder if it's actually hayfever as it's not going away and I'm just miserable with it

So many bugs going round. I was on a thread over in Covid when 2 weeks ago I (and a lot of others) thought they had it. About half the original posters did test positive for covid, the rest have now figured out they have something else - strep, scarlet fever, whooping cough, a bog-standard shitty summer cold, or in my case bronchitis. I don't think this cold gloomy weather is helping at all as we're all still inside with the heating on getting winter bugs rather than vitamin D!

But meant to say that whatever it is, I hope you get well soon! Flowers

I've got it. DH is on his second lot of antibiotics for a severe bacterial infection, but my GP can't work out whether mine is due to a change in my asthma medication or whether it's whooping cough (I've been swabbed). To add to the misery DD vomited today 😭

Xiaoxiong · 14/06/2024 11:54

@Cornishmumofone sounds like your DH and I have the same thing - I had 5 days of amoxicillin 2 weeks ago, went downhill again, now on a week of clarithromycin and 4 days of prednisone.

It's sunny here today so I'm going to try and get at least an hour in the sunshine for vitamin D!

@Flapjacker48 yes, OP! Got it terribly. Chesty cough (full of phlegm-sorry). Blowing my nose so much that it’s sore. Swollen watery eyes and ever so fatigued. Horrid. Hope you feel better soon!
