When did your DD's feet stop growing?

Just ordered sandals which were on sale for DD. They're too big. Pay to send them back or assume her feet are still growing and they will fit next year?

DD is 12, still waiting for a growth spurt...

I ordered a 42, she probably needs a 41.
In the interests of family history I wear 42.5-43, DH 46 and DS 47.5.

I'd send them back, there's a good chance she won't want them by next year even if they do fit, most teenagers seem to live in trainers.

romdowa · 13/06/2024 07:36

My own feet had stopped growing by 12 , so it is possible they won't fit her next year

HavfrueDenizKisi · 13/06/2024 07:40

Ha! Despite everyone in your last thread saying teens live in trainers or crocs you bought sandals anyway. Hope your DD agreed with them.

Anyway my younger DD's feet stopped growing at 12 and elder DD at about 13 so she may be at her adult foot size now. I'd return the sandals.

Mine had stopped growing by the time she got to secondary school too, she got right through to y11 in one pair of school shoes

Remaker · 13/06/2024 07:44

DD17’s feet grew multiple sizes at age 11 and had stopped by 12.

TammyJones · 13/06/2024 07:45

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 13/06/2024 07:46

BoatAcrossTheBay · 13/06/2024 07:48

Year 8 so 12/13.

I'd send them back, if your DD is anything like mine she'll skip a shoe size and end up with them being too small by next summer

Vinorosso74 · 13/06/2024 07:53

DD's stopped growing at 12. She was starting each school year with the corresponding shoe size so I was quite glad when they stopped!

quietpink · 13/06/2024 07:59

Age 11
Used the same shoes all through high school

@HavfrueDenizKisi 😂I did, but in that thread I was talking about "posh" shoes and these are waterproof sports sandals that she wears out to the beach and e.g. paddle boarding! She's opted for canvas trainers for smart wear.

I suppose you're right and sending back is the sensible thing to do. Hope she's going to grow a bit taller though, she's not even up to DS's shoulder!

i think girls have their growth spurt before boys. We had to wait until DS was near the end of secondary for his. I do remember that his feet were steadily growing all through though. Even at 18, he’s getting taller
