Do I need A&E for this?

Not sure how I got the cut, don't remember getting one!

Driving home earlier my leg felt a bit hot. In this exact area

Forgot about it and realised it was getting worse. Have had a proper look and there's a tiny cut. And the redness is spreading

The skin where the redness is, is hot to touch

I don't have to go to A&E, do I?

I don't have any temperature and feel fine

Just never known a simple cut to feel red hot!

I don’t think that’s a cut, looks like a spider bite. Vinegar often works on bites.

Keep checking for tracking —- if you can see lines of a different colour, or if the redness spreads or you get a temperature then you need A&E.

In case anyone googles, I whacked something called Fucibet on it

Woke up to the redness and heat having vanished. And it's scabbed over nicely

Fucibet has steroid in it. Anything will look better with steroid but the actual condition can be masked and also, steroid will prevent skin healing.

I think it's a bite too- got a viscious one like that in Mallorca last week- sat by a beach bar- never felt it . bit of germalene and anthrasan and a day later all went down

You have to be very careful, cellulitis can spread very quickly, and can be dangerous. If the heat and redness reappear go straight to A&E.

Pharmacy can prescribe antibiotics for bites and stings
