Hello

My internet has been shite recently.

It occurred to me that I've had the same router for nearly 10 years.

I'm sure in the olden days Virgin Media used to send a new router every couple of years.

Any thoughts on this before I phone shitebags Virgin Media?

Thanks

We've only ever had a router replaced if we were having issues.

That said, it has been replaced probably 3 or 4 times in the last 10 years.

They sent me a new router recently, had the old one 13 years

I’ve never had a new router from them. Been with them 10 years.

I'm looking at leaving them. I've had enough of half the programs I've recorded being pixelated.

they're expensive now too so I'm looking around for other options.

We get a new router every time we switch provider which is every couple of years.

DP says that the 'free' routers supplied are rubbish, but they seem fine to me. I just tell him that he's free to choose a new one and set it up but he never will.

OP you could ask for a new router and if they want to charge you, just say you're going to switch to BT, Sky etc. You'll probably find they'll send you a new one for free.

I could never get them to send me a new router despite still having an original model....not until i upgraded my package.
