Will I be ill???
Just cooked frozen Jacket potato in the microwave. Started eating the skin and saw that the plate underneath was muddy!!
I've only eaten half and I don't want to be sick!

It won’t be muddy. The skins caramelise when they’re first cooked, and then when they steam in the microwave, that moistens the browned skin, which can leave marks on your plate. Don’t panic.

You’ll be absolutely fine. Honestly. What ever was in the mud, was frozen and then cooked! And it wouldn’t hurt anyway. My kids eat carrots out the ground after a quick rinse from the hose.
honestly you’ll be 100% fine

I hope you've made a will.

It’s not mud, don’t worry!

Think of all the toddlers that eat mud and survive 😁 it will have been cooked as well, I’m sure you’ll be fine.

It won't be mud but even if it was after being frozen then cooked there's nothing left to kill you

Smartiepants79 · 12/06/2024 19:40

Muddy?? Seems unlikely. Was it not just caramelised along the bottom?

Scampuss · 12/06/2024 19:47

It won't be mud, but even if it was it wouldn't harm you!

ShesRunningOutTheDoor · 12/06/2024 19:49

a bit of mud is pretty harmless - and in fact will most likely boost your immune system

This. According to my Mum, I ate my mud pies as a toddler and I’m still here in robust health.

anunlikelyseahorse · 12/06/2024 19:51

Nah it's been nuked, that will kill off any potential pathogens. You'll be fine.

RogerTaylorsdrumstool · 12/06/2024 19:52

Thanks everyone.
Was having a wee panic there...
