Anyone been to one of these? 🕺

I’m going to the Rock City Nottingham one on Saturday. Me and half my old sixth form - we’re all 57. Grin

It’s playing all the old club hits from the 80s/90s but we can all be home tucked up in bed by 10 o’clock. 👍

Story about it here:

Just wondering if any of you lot have already done one?

I’ve not done one, but I love the idea of being able to dance and have fun and still be in bed by 10! Enjoy it!

Me too - I had to go on an email waiting list to get first dibs on the ticket site. They announce the dates and they all get sold out in two minutes so we’re not alone! Grin

I haven't been to one yet but a work colleague went on one and she said it was really good vibes where everyone is just out for a good time. Hope you have a fab time 😀

Hi OP! How was it?!!!

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 05/10/2024 23:03

Hope you enjoyed it OP! Our small town does it once a month and I love it! I'm considerably older than you but love a boogie!

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 05/10/2024 23:10

@Oblahdeeoblahdoe spill please!! I'm hoping to go next year for my 50th celebrations, loved times of late 80s, 90's and some late 70's

Detail required Grin

These day discos are fab.

Safer getting home early.

Buses still available you can use your bus pass on, much cheaper than taxis or extra fare late night buses.

Getting a chippy tea and there's no queue.

Love it.

You must do it! I live in the East Midlands but I know a lot of places are catching on now.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 06/10/2024 08:03

Loved tunes that should say Grin

I'm East Mids too so at the moment they're the closest options via train for us.

Just a thought but if you can't find one in your area be proactive and contact the venue you fancy and ask for one?

They have the facility there all bought and paid for with the music and drink ready, so the only costs they'd have is staff so it'd be worth a go!

Even if they did it once a month with discounted advance tickets if you buy online rather than on the door on the day.

The way it works in my area is it's during the afternoon 2-8pm and closes before the night customers come in.

Presumably to freshen the place up a bit and give the staff a meal break or get a different shift in.

It just seems like an extra source of revenue for the club business and a safer way for women especially to enjoy a 'night out'.

Cheaper and easier childcare for most mums also as people are more likely to watch kids during Saturday day rather than a Saturday night!

It just seems like a win win situation.

Eup all - this is an old thread! I’ve been to two so far and going to the Christmas Sleigh Fever one in December at The Palais in Nottingham. Can’t wait!

They're absolutely brilliant but go in comfy shoes, you will dance for hours. And the bus back to Ilkeston afterwards is blummin fantastic, the shared experience. Grin

I am on a mailing list so I get advance notice when they announce one. If you follow Day Fever on Instagram you can see the link to sign up on the bio.
