Can anyone tell me about their gallbladder experiences?

If you have gallstones/an inflamed gallbladder ?

Long story short, been constipated since pregnancy, baby is now 17 weeks and I'm still passing what I can only describe as conkers!!
I had baby via c section and was prescribed iron after which made it 10000% times worse. Stopped that months ago. Lactulose doesn't work.

I also have a herniated disc which causes awful sciatica, I've been on prescribed cocodamol for about 6 years, taking the max dosage everyday. Had some breaks with the pregnancies, this is why I'm sure the codeine isn't responsible for the constipation.

Anyway that's the backstory, the last few days I've decided to start drinking tumeric tea, which is horrible, but apparently a good detox for the liver (I've been getting all worked up about liver disease due to the paracetamol usage)
Funnily enough I've had two (and I'm sorry) massive poos the last couple of days.

So since Monday I've had an on and off niggling pain in my right rib area, just kind of below it, this has been on and off slight stabbing pains.
Earlier on I finished my granola with Greek yogurt and about 30 mins later had this awful pain in that same area, it got worse and worse for a few mins then suddenly stopped. Since then I've had what feels like indigestion and I feel abit sick.

Does this sound like my gallbladder playing up? Or liver disease? Now I might sound crazy but I have diagnosed ocd, postnatal depression and major anxiety so stuff like this will eat me up !!
How would I know if it was my liver ?

Codeine can irritate the bile duct as well as causing constipation. The turmeric tea can also cause irritation, as can fatty foods, spicy foods, acidic foods/drinks, tea, rapid weight loss, coffee and nuts. Very sugary foods and sweets can also cause problems in this area.

I've had a problem with my gallbladder and bile duct for about 15 years now. I use Buscopan for the pain - it stops the spasms. If I get an attack, I take Tramadol. Also, Omeprazole for a few days.

You could see your GP about it and they might be able to help you get onto a more suitable painkiller and refer you for an ultrasound scan to check for gallstones.

It is often possible to get it under control, but if you have gallstones you might need it to be removed.

When I had gallstones the pain was central under my ribs and went through to my back. Also you normally get pain after eating fatty foods, so I wouldn't have thought granola would have caused an issue. Could it just be indigestion/gastritis? Liver issues normally start with different symptoms I think..jaundice, loss of appetite x

Hi

I've had a reduced appetite for a few weeks now, I had a stomach bug that was awful with diarreah for about 3 days and unbelievably I went straight back to constipation after that went !! But my appetite never really went back to normal.
I still get hungry but I can go hours now without eating properly.

I'm so worried I've got liver failure I keep checking my eyes to see if they've gone yellow !!

I don't think it's indigestion as I take omeprazole everyday and I took a couple of tennis which didn't help. The pain is weird, not had any under right rib since but am having random stabby pains everywhere, left shoulder blade, right shoulder blade, under my right boob. And also the indigestion type feeling around my sternum.

Could it be the tumeric tea causing pain ?

Btw, my diet is very healthy when I do eat, the granola was with Greek yogurt which I eat every morning and I've saw gallstones can flare up with dairy ?

I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago- very straightforward keyhole surgery, took about a week to recover, so just in case it is your gallbladder, try not to worry about that.

I had pains and tenderness in my abdomen from my gallstones, focused on the same area.

I think you need to see your doctor, and yo ask for a test of your liver function while you're there, to put your mind at rest.
