I've always gone for Sainsbury. But our nearest one has stopped doing kitchen stuff. Any suggestions?

Apologies, place-marking, hope you don’t mind op but I’d be vv interested to know too!

WestEndWindy · 12/06/2024 11:53

Very happy with our ProCook pot.

scrapedandfuriousviper · 12/06/2024 11:54

The IKEA range is limited but very good; I have been caning a large one by baking bread in it at the highest temperature on a pretty much weekly basis and it is doing just fine after at least five years.

I have Sainsburys, proper Le Creuset and Procook. They are all good - I think the Procook is probably the best of the three in terms of value for money/how nice it is. Check them out!

Kernow54 · 12/06/2024 12:07

Yes I would agree with the recommendation for ProCook. We are very impressed with their cast iron range. Fantastic quality and a long guarantee- 25 years if I recall correctly.

CJ0374 · 12/06/2024 12:15

Lidl and aldi do them at various times of the year- BUT, 1 of mine is already chipping after 1 yr and its only been hand washed.

OP- You can order Sainsburys home items online. I think via the argos/Tu site.
La Creuset also have clearance stores at many factory/discount outlet places.

John Lewis ones are v. good:

We have a couple of the shallow casseroles, the standard casseroles and the grill pan.

AnnaMagnani · 12/06/2024 15:00

I have one from Lidl plus a real one. The fake is not as good but will have years of use.

Mumofoneandone · 12/06/2024 15:11

Worth looking on eBay, often find le creuset in pretty good condition there!

HoneyButterPopcorn · 12/06/2024 15:20

I got mine in a sale (the real ones). Managed to crack one of the pans (yes - cracked a pan). Didn’t replace them! Very heavy especially when full of food!

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 12/06/2024 15:25

I have the Aldi version and it's great, VERY heavy though!

EmmaGrundyForPM · 12/06/2024 15:31

I've got Le Creuset and Sainsburys dupes. The Le Creuset is over 30 years old (wedding presents!) and is still going strong. However, some of the pieces are so heavy I find them difficult to lift.

I've actually bought some casserole dishes that look like cast iron but are aluminium. Much easier to use, but you can't treat it like cast iron.

Hepherlous · 12/06/2024 15:35

John Lewis for me too

ZazieBeth · 12/06/2024 15:39

Denby

PurplePolkaDot0 · 12/06/2024 15:44

They are much of a muchness really. Mine is from Waitrose so probs the same as the John Lewis one, it’s lasted me well for about 5 years and through several house moves!

MissAtomicBomb1 · 12/06/2024 19:36

Denby but not cheap either

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 12/06/2024 19:40

I have both Lidl and Aldi, my first pot is about 20 years old.

keepingsanity · 12/06/2024 19:47

I got a great tefal one years ago and it's just like le cruset. I've just looked at tefal prices though and I'm shocked!

GeniusLevelJaffaCake · 12/06/2024 23:28

Denby take Tesco Clubcard vouchers so you get 2x the face value (or at least, they did the last time I bought).
