C4 player has now gone from my Samsung TV (along with ITVX). I think I need a fire stick but confused. Help!

C4, ITVX and C5 no longer available on my Samsung smart TV.
I've been told I need to get a fire stick from Amazon.
Do I need the 4k ultra hd one with Alexa or will a more basic one do?
I'm confused and not very techy.
Help

We only use a basic one. I use it for ITVX, C5, C5, Netflix etc.

It is excellent.

Is your Samsung a bit older ? This has recently happened to my nine year old Samsung and a Firestick is a great cheap fix.

The new catch up and streaming channels aren't compatible with older technology, so it's either a firestick or an old fashioned HDMI cable linked to your laptop.

Picture quality is better with a firestick.

Happened here a while back, my Samsung TV is from 2012 & still works just fine but the only apps that work are iplayer & Amazon video.

I got the amazon fire stick with voice remote. The lite version is HD so would work just fine. I use it for YouTube & you can also get Freevee which is like Amazon prime video but with adverts.

I’ve just bought a fire stick for my Samsung but can’t get the tv to “see” the fire stick. I go on to hdmi1 which is the port it’s plugged in to - anyone advise on why I can’t see it?

Try it in another HDMI port.

I bought a Roku box for my older TV and it's absolutely brilliant. Plug and play, has all the apps, so easy to set up. My TV is fully smart again!
Favourite thing is a search function that searches all the apps at once for a movie or show so you don't have to search each individual one.
