How many dwellings can you see from your home?

Just for casual interest. 'Dwellings' so we include flats and bungalows etc as well as houses.

From the back of my house - 21
From the front of my house - 44

I can probably see more when there are no leaves on the trees.

Plus I can see four tall tower blocks in the far distance so that's probably another 120 or so.

About 20 from the back upstairs window, but I do live in the fens so can see as far as visibility allows, the ones I can see straight in front of me are about 3 miles away across the fields. I can see 8 tractors today though.

None front or back. I live rurally.

None. Bungalow/villa (I live abroad,) set in an acre of garden surrounded by hedges, trees and high walls. If we open the gates I can see fields and 2 houses in the distance and if I'm on my terrace I can just see next door villa through trees.

Sounds blissful.

I can see 8 or 9 in front compared to three trees and about 14 at the back with random trees people have planted to try to get some desperately needed privacy and more houses between the gaps. I HATE seeing so many houses from my windows.
I yearn for nature.

Three out the front. Six (roofs only) out the back.

Sunnnybunny72 · 12/06/2024 11:19

From the front - one
From the back - none
We are semi rural and have fields to four sides.

TheDandyLion · 12/06/2024 11:20

From the front I can see 6 houses. 3 of them are about a mile away on the other side of the valley.
From the back I can't see any houses because there is a massive hill in the way.

Lilacdew · 12/06/2024 11:20

From where I'm sitting (back of house) - one.
From front doorstep 4 - neighbours either side (if I turn my head Grin) and 2 opposite.

deviantfeline · 12/06/2024 11:22

1/2 a one.
I can just about make out a house behind a clump of trees on the beach opposite but it's about 2km away.

usernother · 12/06/2024 11:48

From the front 11
From the back 4
I live in suburbia.

Snugglemonkey · 12/06/2024 12:07

From the back, none. We are on the edge of the village and behind is farmland. From the front, 3.

Abitorangelooking · 12/06/2024 12:08

None from the front. One from the back.

LauderSyme · 12/06/2024 22:57

@Spacie yes a nursing home definitely counts as a dwelling, in my book.

@Hedgesfullofbirds 's chicken house and beehives maybe not so much! Her home sounds quite wonderful.

I am enjoying reading about your urban and rural landscapes. I live in a coastal town.

Too damn many, built on best agricultural land and without enough trees or hedges in the original plans of the complete estates, which should be law.
