Ibiza for 3 nights even worth it?

deepdownrusingthrough · 11/06/2024 08:24

So me and my partner did our main holiday in April this year and had no holidays booked till May next year to Mexico.
Anyway I was feeling a bit sad seeing everyone going away.
So he's booked 3 nights in Ibiza next month.
It just seems a bit pointless for three nights
We go Monday morning and leave things at 9pm
So it's like 3 full days but it seems a bit pointless
Il get there and wish we were there a week
Is it enough time ?
It's a long way to go for 3 nights isn't it?

Sounds lovely. We used to do a lot of weekend breaks.

JennyfromtheBlok · 11/06/2024 08:26

How far are you from the airport? Uk and Ibiza ?

deepdownrusingthrough · 11/06/2024 08:28

Uk is around 35 mins and Ibiza 30 mins transfer to hotel

Yeah definitely. It’s only a short flight.

cj217 · 11/06/2024 08:29

Why would it be pointless Confused still 3 more days on holiday that you'd not get if you stayed home. Plenty of people do weekend breaks all over Europe, one of the perks of living here imo

longdistanceclaraclara · 11/06/2024 08:32

Of course it is! Its only a short flight

Greentreesandbushes · 11/06/2024 08:33

Loads of person Ibiza for a weekend, do hand luggage only

Sandytoesandcrabs · 11/06/2024 08:43

100% worth it! I’ll going you don’t fancy it

dancingsands · 11/06/2024 08:46

Mini breaks like that are my fav

There is literally a TV show about Ibiza Weekenders.

You sound a tad ungrateful OP

Maddy70 · 11/06/2024 09:08

We often go for 3 nights. Its my favourite duration. Ì love them

ThinkingAgainAndAgain · 11/06/2024 09:11

DH and I have done three nights in our own in a small Ibiza village three times. It’s been fantastic. The flight is so short, and Ibiza is small so the transfer from the airport is really short too. We basically do nothing but swim, relax, read, eat and drink. I always come back feeling great. I would go tomorrow!

LaBelleEtLeBadBoy · 11/06/2024 09:14

Don’t be such a damp fun sponge.

People do extreme day trips – round trips to European destinations in under 24 hours.

Why shouldn’t 3 days in Ibiza be a good time?

It might be fun if you let it be.

deepdownrusingthrough · 11/06/2024 09:16

Yeah we are doing hand luggage only to get through fast
I think because I've never done anything less than 5 days abroad
I'm a bit -will it be a blink and over

Short trip to airport, short flight, short transfer and you’ve got 3 full days.
You sound properly ungrateful - I’ll go instead if you don’t fancy it!

ScarletPower · 11/06/2024 09:19

We went to Lanzarote for four nights in Feb and with the crappy weather here I'm glad we did. Weather aside it was a welcome break and reenergised me for a bit. Plus three nights will mean not much to pack. Enjoy the sun ☀️

Hteng · 11/06/2024 09:19

We're going to canada for 4 nights later in the year, and have a bigger transfer each side, you'll be fine.

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 11/06/2024 09:23

It'll be a lovely break, definitely worthwhile. I bet you wouldn't think twice about a weekend in Prague or Warsaw with similar flight times.

But the same time will pass if you stay at home - and you'll have some great memories :)

jackstini · 11/06/2024 10:23

It will be fab! I've done 5 short trips in Europe in the past 10 months and all been great
You seem to pack more in than when you go for a week and then think 'oh, I've not done much'

Mylovelygreendress · 11/06/2024 10:30

If I can find cheap flights , DH and I often go to Mallorca for 3 nights and it is a real boost !

Sunnyside4 · 11/06/2024 10:51

I feel my holiday starts the moment I lock the front door. Once I'm at the airport, I enjoy pottering around, people watching, then the flight. I think it's a case of enjoying what time you have and not overthinking it.

We were actually talking about going away for 3/4 nights abroad last night - can't really justify anything longer right now - it'll be better than nothing and something to look forward to.

I hope you have a nice time when you've got your head around it.

Retiredearly61 · 11/06/2024 11:18

We recently did a 4 night break but only 3.5 in reality after flight times. We crammed loads in but still had plenty of relaxing time. We saw everything we wanted and had a few hours on the beach. We got up at 8.30 ish rather than a long lie in as we would on a longer holiday. We stayed out in the day til 6 then showered and changed and back out for dinner at 8. What we didn’t do was spend time just sitting on our phones/ipad wasting time. DH previously thought it was ridiculous doing all the airport palaver for just a few days but even he had to agree it had been a good break and felt longer cos we had done so much

deepdownrusingthrough · 11/06/2024 11:31

@Mylovelygreendress well this was one of the good things the cheap flights ,we got a return for £44
No seats or bags or anything but we aren't bothered about sitting together ha ha
