Hi there
myself and dd are travelling from Ireland over to Manchester later this week for a concert. We arrive into Piccadilly and are staying out at Trafford City. What would be the best option to get there please?

also is there a way to buy some sort of tram pass or will tapping on and off be easier?

Download the Bee app it is the travel app for trains trams and buses
I think your best bet would be a tram , download the app you can put in your destination and the date /time and it will tell you the best journey enjoy your break

You said Trafford city , but do you mean trafford center ? ( quite a few hotels near there)
You can get a tram from picadilly tram station.
Look for the escalator going to the lower level ( near train platform 10 )
Go down again onto the platform signposted for Altrincham.

Get a tram to Media City or eccles , change at Cornbrook and get on the Trafford Centre tram .

The whole trip will take about 30/ 40 mins.
Pp is right you can download the bee network app but as its going to be the only time you use the tram I would just tap in and out.
DONT forget to tap out at the end of your journey or you will get charged a fortune.
Or you can buy a ticket from the machine on the platform .
You need to pick the zone you are travelling from , through and to , picadilly is zone 1 , I think the Trafford Centre is zone 3
I think a single will cost about £4 Depending on when you travel.
