Where's really cool or quirky to eat in Leeds in the city centre? Or just delicious. Am easy on cuisine and no dietary requirements. Hit me up !

Cut and Craft is one of our favourites. The building itself is lovely, and the Sunday lunch in particular is 😍

Tharavadu
Blue Sakura
Six by Nico

Bibi's? Lovely food and great service. Lots of art deco too, if you enjoy that! https://www.bibisrestaurant.com/

Bento on Merrion Street. Lovely atmosphere, great value, super tasty food.

cherryassam · 10/06/2024 23:25

Also completely second Tharavadu

Quitelikeacatslife · 10/06/2024 23:30

Thirded Tharavadu

FussyPud · 11/06/2024 00:54

Mommy Thai near the station, cheap, cheerful, and tasty.

I like Laynes Espresso for brunch/lunch.

RainyTulips · 11/06/2024 14:00

Sous Le Nez - basement French restaurant on Quebec Street.

GreenBag53 · 11/06/2024 18:10

La Taberna, basement Spanish tapas - fabulous

PeonySeasons · 11/06/2024 18:12

Tharavadu is also my vote. Have the enormous dosa!

Tadpole10 · 11/06/2024 18:17

Ambiente tapas on the calls for dinner

Bundobust for lunch

Tadpole10 · 11/06/2024 18:18

Sukothai for Thai

Empire Cafe is overrated and overly fussy food with rude waiter.

AuntieMarys · 11/06/2024 18:22

Indian Tiffin Room

Ohhownaice · 11/06/2024 18:27

Another Tharavadu vote. Also Wen's chinese.

La Piola is an Italian sandwich shop that has a few tables and in the evening run an amazing value menu. Everything is delicious.

Mmmm, talk to me about Tharavadu, I’ve been a few times, we used to go on a Friday lunchtime from work just down on Sovereign Street, I never rated it. It was decidedly average on a lunch time.

however, it’s been there years now, so it must be doing something right. What’s so great about it, happy to give another go as lots of people rave about it.

I agree with the Sous Le Nez recommendation, I also like The Whitehall for Sunday Lunch and they do great puddings. Service and wine is good.

I enjoyed Cut and Craft but I’m not a big meat eater so it wouldn’t be on my list again.

Six By Nico is probably best enjoyed on a Tuesday evening, I felt rushed in and shoved out on a Saturday and didn’t appreciate the experience as a result although the food was good. I had no idea what I was eating as each course was preceded by a 50 words a second ramble by the waiter about what the course was, what the ingredients were and where it came from. Impossible to retain at the speed it was given. The plates are whipped away as soon as you put your fork down and the next course thrown down a minute later.

the Ox Club is Headrow House gets good reviews but not been yet.

following for my own interest rather than my suggestions, sorry. 😀

yes to Sukothai and Wens Chinese, done both. Wens is more authentic Chinese rather than a fancy Saturday dinner.

Prashad’s out of the city centre and Bundobust in the centre.
