Mmmm, talk to me about Tharavadu, I’ve been a few times, we used to go on a Friday lunchtime from work just down on Sovereign Street, I never rated it. It was decidedly average on a lunch time.
however, it’s been there years now, so it must be doing something right. What’s so great about it, happy to give another go as lots of people rave about it.
I agree with the Sous Le Nez recommendation, I also like The Whitehall for Sunday Lunch and they do great puddings. Service and wine is good.
I enjoyed Cut and Craft but I’m not a big meat eater so it wouldn’t be on my list again.
Six By Nico is probably best enjoyed on a Tuesday evening, I felt rushed in and shoved out on a Saturday and didn’t appreciate the experience as a result although the food was good. I had no idea what I was eating as each course was preceded by a 50 words a second ramble by the waiter about what the course was, what the ingredients were and where it came from. Impossible to retain at the speed it was given. The plates are whipped away as soon as you put your fork down and the next course thrown down a minute later.
the Ox Club is Headrow House gets good reviews but not been yet.
following for my own interest rather than my suggestions, sorry. 😀
yes to Sukothai and Wens Chinese, done both. Wens is more authentic Chinese rather than a fancy Saturday dinner.
