Grassroots football club disbands womens teams

The majority of Thornaby FC Committee have decided to axe all its women and girls junior teams from the club with immediate effect to save money. While the boys and men play on!

Its a political decision, not financial. I wonder how bad things have to get before people react.

It's obviously not financial - unless someone has had their hand in the till

Yes just reading more on it. The chairman of the committee is against the decision and is asking them to reconsider.

I wonder what's really going on with the committee.

Is it just plain old misogyny, are the womens and girls teams doing better than the male and boys teams and some of them don't like it?

Lets hope that they (the women/girls) find a solution and somewhere to play.
