Hi All,

I have awaful blistering psoriasis on the palms of my hands/soles and sides of feet - I am on top of the tree with a steroid spray and next option is Methotrexate in tablet form.

Just looking to see if anyone else has used this and whether it was effective/any side effects?

@Dunnoburt Thanks so much for taking the time to reply and sharing this, you can definitely see an improvement, glad this is working for you. I had read on this thread about taking it at night so I will recommend that and see how she gets on. After 20 years of psoriasis the last 2 been the worst it has ever been, trying creams, lotions and steroids she is willing to try anything, hope it continues to work for you, thanks again x

Awe tiredness was the thing that put my mum off, she was prescribed for a rare autoimmune disease.

It was myasthenia gravis and the side effects didn't outweigh the symptoms

@Dunnoburt wow that is amazing what a difference so glad this has worked for you. not so great news for my daughter, after going to see the nurse specialist the other day they picked up that the count for her liver blood test was to high this was something the doctor missed, so after all our research for the methotrexate she is unable to use this, so she has now been prescribed Apremilast we are just waiting for pharmacy to get this in stock for her, Hope yours continues to work for you and thanks for sharing x

Oh @BeCleverSquid I'm so sorry to hear that, I had an abnormal liver result last week with my derm appointment tomorrow so I may be taken off it which will be a shame as my quality of life has significantly improved with it... I've got everything crossed for your daughter, please let me know how she gets on x

Fantastic results OP!
Just to add, I was taken off it after 6 weeks (not liver related). That was 10 years ago and I've never relapsed 🙏.
Hopefully you will have been on it long enough to get your system back into kilter even if you do have to come off it x

Dunnoburt · 14/08/2024 22:07

@twiddlingthumbs69 thank you and fingers crossed if they do stop it it's helped enough to make it go into remission!! 😀😘

Time to start a biologic, then? You don't want a flare.

BeCleverSquid · 15/08/2024 05:16

Hopefully if they take you off it they can give you something else to try, it's so frustrating when you have found something that works. Will definitely keep you updated x
