For me having the Greater spotted woodpecker that visits our bird feeders bring her baby to the feeder and watching her feeding him. ( You can tell by males having a red head. )

One of my cats followed me through to the front garden and kept me company whilst I cut the grass and tidied. We then sat together on a step and just chilled for a bit.

We foster dogs. Often they’re quite shut down and withdrawn when they come to us so it’s a lot of work and sometimes 1 step forward, 2 steps back, when trying to win their trust.

Today, the dog we are currently fostering has actually played with our other dogs for the first time. For weeks, he has just sat and watched the other dogs play, like he didn’t know how to join in. My other dogs were so gentle when they played with him, like they know he is ‘a beginner’. He also played with a toy for the first time a couple of days ago having not understood how to before. 😢

Lots of work still to do but he’s a lovely boy and making great progress.

Our 6 month old puppy. He’s unspeakably sweet.

And all the fledgings flitting about the garden trees.

Phone call to say that DBro's (major) surgery had gone well yesterday.

Had a lovely day out with my children. My eldest got to get involved in lots of stuff related to his interests and looked so thrilled and happy and couldn't stop talking about it.

My younger child is learning to talk and spoke loads of new words and sentences today - I love her beautiful little voice.

Spending a day driving round wonderful countryside - easy to feel gloomy about the country but the lush, greenery will never disappoint.

I've just come home from attending a D-day concert . . . the stories of those involved are so heroic & inspiring and the music was brilliant. It was all so poignant yet uplifting

Went out for a rare lunch with my young adult kids (ds and dd) and DH today. Drove in one car to the restaurant. My kids were laughing in the back of the car- properly giggling and chatting it took me back to when they were small doing the same thing and it swelled my heart.

My toddler telling me she's happy.

Our daughter (2.5) for the first time managed to walk on uneven ground unaided, she has CP, so this was a huge achievement, so much so even our eight year old realised and then made it his mission of the day to keep encouraging her while we were on our little day trip.

DCat2 lying on my chest and purring. (Warms the rest of me, too - welcome on a cold winter day!)
