The type of men who tell you all they've done / doing

Anyone know the type?
I've met a few men who go on and on about boring shite. But the most boring shite consists of telling you all they do like it's special. Ie I go to work, I've cleaned the bathroom, I've made the tea.
Do they think doing a bit makes them special ?

They are inviting admiration for being so heroic.

"Look - admire the uncluttered worktops. I was hard at work all day, and when I came home I did the washing up".

Well whoopie-doo. Have a medal.

Who are these men? Friends? Men you're dating? I'm struggling to imagine being on a date with someone who narrates his housework chores as though they involve scaling the north face of the Eiger in a blizzard. I mean, you'd just swallow your coffee/gin in a single gulp and go/climb out the loo window or whatever...?

It's because they are so deeply insecure about their worth. So they must martyr themselves, and document to the world how much more busy and important they are than anyone else.

With my particular one, I used to shut it down by mirroring them and describing the agonising minutae of my own doings... They hate that. They are usually so incredibly boringly self absorbed that they don't know how they come across to others, yet self aware enough to hate it when it comes from others ..

An ex partner was like this. Apparently his job was harder, he did more at work and at the gym, he did the cleaning etc. Who cares you boring twat
