Nintendo switch beginner help

I downloaded mario kart 8 to the switch but when I try to play it says to insert game card.

Surely the point in downloading the game is precisely why you don't need a game cartridge and why have I even downloaded anything if I still need a game card.

And when/ where does the game card come from?!

You downloaded it from the Nintendo store?

Game cards come from shops same as any game. It’s on Amazon for £39.

With game cards it’s a physical game in the form of a small plastic card with a chip. You can lend it to a friend if you like. Whereas downloaded games can only be played on your own switch.

Did you download the entire game or just an add on / extra courses? How much did you pay and from where?

Rollercoaster1920 · 09/06/2024 14:18

You might need to add an SD card to the switch to have enough storage. One game we downloaded was over 50GB.

TheCheeseThief · 09/06/2024 14:32

Are you sure it was the actual game and not extension track courses?

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 09/06/2024 23:09

Right so I got the switch a couple of years ago, played it for a month and then having children just put that to bed haha.

I forgot I did actually have the mario game card! So the download must've been an update or something!

So yeh I'm just being an idiot :)

Well, for precise download and unlimited premium perks, I have used alphamodi.com as it is a secure platform to perform the action. My kid loves their game with no limitations.
