Very sad.

you couldn’t just feel that sadness?

NotAVampire · 09/06/2024 10:22

This is in poor taste and smacks of grief vulture vibes. His death hasn’t even been officially confirmed.

Theunamedcat · 09/06/2024 10:25

They haven't confirmed it's him

Sunshineonasameyday · 09/06/2024 10:27

Why do people do this? They all have to rush to be the first to post on the internet like it earns them some kind of internet brownie points. What has happened in Greece is a tragedy for the family, and their friends but only for them. It's not our grief to publicise.

Yes, this and the three full threads already running about him and the start of the fourth.

Why are you clicking on the posts then? You are just as bad.

Do people who tell off mumsnetters for talking about news stories patrol the Internet to tell off people on other websites for talking about it?

ducktapez · 09/06/2024 13:32

Is this one going to pick up where the last one left off?

Couldnt agree more. It's almost like they'd ban news altogether as it's none of our business so why should anyone take an interest in it.

Yes they have

Such an amazing man, he has literally changed my life after being so close to getting type two diabetes his research and diets helped me overcome such a terrible condition. His historical tv programmes about medical developments through time have been an amazing resource in my profession.

Such a loving inspirational family too.

RIP x

Same here, in 2020 I was pre-diabetic but by following his diet advice I’m now completely healthy 51 year old. His books and Fast800 programme revolutionised our family’s health.

I’m so saddened by his death. He left amazing legacy, he turned so many people’s health around. I hope it will bring comfort to his family.

So signing a book of condolence is being a grief vulture?

I think it's rare that when someone dies nobody has a bad word to say about them, as is the case here.

This is a shocking and very sad loss of someone who a lot of people liked and admired, I don't think it's strange that people want to say how sad they are about it.

Jeezitneverends · 09/06/2024 14:13

Jesus, the body hasn’t even been formally identified

ducktapez · 09/06/2024 14:18

Oh fgs of course it's him, his wife has even made a statement.

TheCheeseThief · 09/06/2024 14:36

Very sad, he must of lost his footing it's odd that he didn't take his phone with them though.

Rip.

GrazingSheep · 09/06/2024 14:38

You could at least spell his name correctly.

Yes, as I posted my comment early this morning before his wife released her statement and long before it was confirmed the body was his. At that point in time to have created a thread entitled “RIP” was in poor taste. In my opinion.

ManilowBarry · 09/06/2024 15:26

Grief hijacker's gather round! A celebrity has died!

How many threads on him will there be?

Shh you'll get told off.

You rushed onto the thread to tell people off and are still hanging around. Aren't there any other websites you need to patrol and tell people off on?

do you not think it’s a bit different when the “news” is the death of someone’s husband, father, brother?

I got notified I'd been quoted so I came to read the comment. Same as my reply to you.

LakeTiticaca · 09/06/2024 15:55

Expressing condolences when someone dies is not grief hijacking. I'm sure Dr Mosleys family will be comforted in some small way that the public thought so much of him.
Say nothing if you wish but no need to get nasty if other people want to remember someone who has suffered a tragic and untimely death
