I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot & considering a tea cake for breakfast 😋. The girls should be up shortly - we had planned to do things together today! For now I'll enjoy the quiet though ☕️

The slow cooker's on with a gammon in it for tea but other than cooking there'll be no housework today!

We're in full on Eras prep mode & I'm so excited! I'm going to finish dd2's shoes and we're all going to make bracelets today. Probably with a "break" when my dad calls for a brew, with some glue for me.

Tonight it'll be early showers all round, then I need to take up dd2's trousers for Saturday by about 8" 🙈.

I'll be having an early one, once the trousers are done 💤 ahead of a busy week packing & finishing things off (and work 🙄).

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning @lucysmam!

We have absolutely nothing planned today besides some baking. It's been a very long week and it's nice to just have one day where we're not rushing around.

DH has just gone downstairs to make coffee, DD is drawing horses in her room and I'm still lazing in bed.

I quite fancy some online retail therapy, I don't technically need anything but the urge is strong!

Lasagne and garlic bread for tea and then some more rubbish tv. Currently watching selling sunset after loving buying London a bit too much!

Hope you have a lovely Sunday

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 09/06/2024 09:32

have a lovely Sunday. DH has taken DD to walk up a big hill. I’m about to have some breakfast then head to the gym. Will clean bathroom later then probably potter about.

lissie123 · 09/06/2024 09:40

Morning all
Dh upstairs with dd trying to resolve her mobile phone issue since her return from Australia.
On my second cuppa having cleaned and cleared the kitchen of last nights debris. Put a wash on and taken washing off the line. Opened all the windows downstairs for fresh air and the sunlight. Off out to lunch with all the family at a posh hotel for a mini celebration and then dog walking in between before neighbours (who are lovely) are coming over for a cuppa or wine depending on what they fancy and a natter before I make some tea( not sure what it will be yet) and then an early night as have a busy week ahead.

Good morning, we’re going to Tyresta national park today, so that will mean a nice walk with the dogs, depending on the weather maybe a dip in a lake. We’re driving in our van so we can have a little bbq if nothing at the little cafe takes our fancy.

This morning we had churros for breakfast with chocolate sauce, yummy.

Oh last night we did watch the first episode of lost boys and fairies, it was really good, I’d recommend it.

Have a good Sunday.

garlictwist · 09/06/2024 09:52

I've just been swimming. The pool was nice and quiet. Our original plan was to head over to the Lakes and go for a walk but it's so cold and windy we might do that next weekend instead. Considering going to a local market and then the cinema and keeping warm!

lucysmam · 09/06/2024 09:55

@DilemmaDelilah I forgot to tag you! I'm here 😊

Good morning lucysmam & the rest of the Sunday gang! Actually slept in til gone 9 which hardly ever happens. Just finished a cuppa in bed & after posting this, will be checking my E Mails to see if some online training from work has arrived. Not much else planned for today. Need to pop into town to go to Boots & might do a top up shop at Asda as we’re on the last loo roll. DD15 should be here but is still at her GF’s. DH will probably go for a bike ride this afternoon. Some washing to hang out & at least another load to do. Dishwasher needs to go on once the breakfast things are in. Looking forward to bangers, double cream mash, carrots, peas & a new Bisto sausage gravy for tea. One of my fav meals.

Spottymushroom · 09/06/2024 10:04

I’ve been awake since 5 😴 housework is done and I’m going to lidl in a little bit to get the veg for a roast lamb today. Ds17 and his girlfriend made a Black Forest trifle for desert and I can’t wait to try that.

I want to do some baking and meal prep for the week.

car needs cleaning for MOT and service tomorrow which Dh is going to do.

lawn needs mowing which ds 19 has offered to do.

The youngsters are all going to the cinema this afternoon so I am going to sit and read in silence.

lucysmam · 09/06/2024 10:06

@RabbitsRock I hate online training for work! I'd rather do actual training with people!

@lucysmam eekk I can’t believe it’s nearly here! My nieces went last night, it was amazing and their mums are now converts 😂
Quiet day here, we are getting the washing up to date and awaiting the Asda delivery, so I’m currently sitting in the garden between loads with a dog on my lap. We will get out for a dog walk later, but no rushing about for us today.
Enjoy your Sunday all!

Sunnnybunny72 · 09/06/2024 10:12

Picking up DS2 finishing his first year at uni.
He doesn't want to come back but has work lined up.
Excited.

FlorencenotRatchet · 09/06/2024 10:12

Morning @lucysmam and all. Happy Sunday.
Just back from a very slow run after my injury last week. Felt great to be running again and a glorious morning.
Nothing much planned for today. Adult son is off work today so will see if he fancies going out for lunch.
Enjoy your day everyone.

lucysmam · 09/06/2024 10:17

@FayKnights aw I'm glad they had an amazing night. I'm so looking forward to it. I've just watched a few tik-toks of the surprise songs & ten minute All Too Well, while I finished a coffee & dd's shoes.

Morning all. I'm wild camping in a forest in Sussex. The sun is glinting through the pine trees, the dogs are sunbathing, DH is tidying up and I'm drinking cappuccino! It's a hard life.

buffyslayer · 09/06/2024 10:19

Just back from Aldi (got there at 9.40 so nice and early!)
I'm going to make a ragu and put it in the slow cooker, then turn it into lasagne tonight

Fresh bedding to go on the bed and probably finish watching geek girl on Netflix

Andnowshesatoddler · 09/06/2024 10:22

Currently sat in Starbucks having a much needed caffeine and quiet time fix.
A to do list the length of both arms.
Happy Sunday all x

DaffydownClock · 09/06/2024 10:26

Good morning @lucysmam and followers, it’s a lovely sunny morning here and I’m enjoying a Coff after doing 90 minutes of gardening, finishing off the border I started yesterday afternoon. I have finished planting it up, fertilised and watered it well - the soil is like dust.
DH is supposed to be walking the dog, I need to think about what we’re having for dinner (I get fed up with cooking and food shopping), I want to carry on knitting my socks and I will probably listen to podcasts while doing that.
I hope you all have a lovely day 🌺

Crushed23 · 09/06/2024 10:31

I’m in Galway, Ireland for the weekend!

Had an incredibly relaxing lie-in (I almost never lie in), now about to head out for brunch.

Yesterday we had oysters and chowder for lunch, then went to the Cliffs of Moher (stunning), followed by a lively Irish beer garden in Galway town for pizza and Guinness.

I always have such a wonderful time in Ireland - highly underrated place. 💜

ShipshapeShore · 09/06/2024 10:44

I'm always a little envious of everyone's plans - all I ever seem to do is clean up after everyone for most of the weekend! Think things need to change in our house.

Tonight I will make time to read and paint my nails. I've written it on here so now I have to do it 😊.

Off to Lidl now. Wish me luck! Have a lovely day everyone.

frozendaisy · 09/06/2024 10:45

Was up with the larks so all chores done including a unblocking a hoover hose!

Gentle cooking and much revision in the kitchen today, which isn't so bad in the grand scheme of things.

lucysmam · 09/06/2024 11:09

@ShipshapeShore absolutely make time for something you want to do! We all chip in here so if they're sat, so am I (mostly!). I'm no-one's skivvy. They also get the piss ripped out of them if they do jobs "for you". Um nope...I do not solely use the household items!

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I was awake far too early so I had breakfast far too early too. Two coffees and a croissant then a shower. Then I nipped to Tesco for foil dishes and lentils and managed to spend a fortune on toys for the boys (grandsons). Home again and I made lentil soup in the slow cooker. Then I watered all the garden. I'm now having a cuppa and a lemon curd iced bun from Aldi. They are amazing! Shortly I'll do a little weeding then later this afternoon I'll visit mum in hospital. Dinner will be pulled gammon and potatoes with purple sprouting broccoli. Maybe a plum crumble too. I'm going to make banana bread for my son in law. Enjoy your day everyone.

Chelsea26 · 09/06/2024 12:39

Afternoon all.

I’m currently sitting in the sun at a football tournament in Eastleigh with DS1’s footie team. We’re on tour! 14 boys, 13 dads and me have been glamping since Friday night, they played a friendly yesterday and then went paintballing before an evening toasting marshmallows around a camp fire. It’s been a really lovely weekend.

DS2 has had a little weekend away with their dad which is nice too.

DP is at home with DSD and DSS, he’s laying a patio at the moment.

I’ll drop DS1 at his dads later and then it will just be me and DP for dinner - will have a think about what I fancy and send him out to the shops before they close.

DilemmaDelilah · 09/06/2024 12:43

@RabbitsRock I would be panicking if we were down to our last loo roll! But then I have bowel 'issues' following chemo and my visits to the porcelain throne are very frequent. Also we are lucky enough to have 3 loos, so all need to have loo roll in!

Everyone seems to be having a nice chilled day, as am I. I made some gemstone earring drops for myself as I had planned, and started making some button Christmas trees since I had the stuff out. I used to do craft fairs before I got too decrepit, and my sister has suggested I join her at her local Christmas fair this year. I've given away most of my stuff, but have kept enough to do some Christmas things. Yes I know it's only June... but I'm doing it for fun.

I think DH is cooking our evening meal again today as he has got fishcakes out of the freezer - he does look after me!

lucysmam · 09/06/2024 17:04

@DilemmaDelilah your post has reminded me what else we needed from the shop!

I'll pinch a couple of loo rolls from downstairs until tomorrow <sigh>
