Would you renew your passport with 7 months remaining or travel with it?

Not travelled for quite a while. We will be going to Germany in August and I have just realised my child's passport expires next March. I have just read you must have atleast 3 months from the return date so theoretically should be fine.
I am just not a very confident traveller and don't want any issues. Would you renew?

It's 6 months from date of issue. If you're within that, travel on it for your August trip.

I would travel on it. It's within the rules so will be fine.

Germany is 3 months. So fine.

Every country has different rules, so you need to check not just rely on a blanket rule.
