Carpet moth infestation ( rented property)

I've been living in a rented place for coming up 3 years at the end of August. It seems I have a carpet moth infestation 😢
Im not sure if it was a problem before I moved in, but a friend who visits often says he definitely noticed some damage patches left by their destruction from when I 1st moved in.
I'd not really noticed it before or paid much attention until I've been off work recently and been having a big clear out/clean. I can see it's really quite bad in parts under sofa / chairs/ rugs.
Last year admittedly i did notice a few moths flying about the house but justthought they were summer pests. Never seen any during the winter.
I have spent this weekend trying to go through everything with the spray purchased off amazon that's supposed to kill the blighters but know i need to ring my estate agent in Monday im actually dreading this as i worry they will blame me. Anyone any thoughts?

I had carpet beetles before, and I just couldn't get rid of them. Of course it isn't your fault. Are they wool carpets ? I can't keep carpets in my house after it

Moths are fucking hard buggers to get rid of.

Put all my clothes in thr freezer to kill eggs and had rentokil out, moths disappeared but then saw one after a few months. Was keeping on top of it with lavender etc.

Then, my mum bought me some walnuts from cash and carry. About six weeks later found the bag to be infested and I now have fucking pantry moth.
Everything in the kitchen is now in glass jars.

Amazon do some Moth Traps with sticky pheromone which are good.
