PIP Assesment - how long till result

Dh had a telephone PIP assessment yesterday. I sat in so heard all his answers.
I was surprised at some of his answers or maybe as his disability is new I've had rose tinted glasses and think he's better than he is.
How long does it take generally to get the results/outcome?

Difficult to say but if you give it a few days and then ring the helpline you can ask for a copy of the report and that will give you some advance warning of what they’ve said and what points you might get. The decision maker usually goes along with the report.

Thanks. That great. We'll definitely do that.
The Dr says he should definitely get it and thinks it should be enhanced so fingers crossed

If it’s his first application brace yourselves for a refusal and ‘Nul points’. It’s a long drawn out process and can take 18 mos to 2 years. Then you ask them to ‘reconsider’ or review their decision, which they do , same outcome.
So you go to tribunal, more time elapses, you get professional help at this point. Go to tribunal, get heard by an actual doctor and judge and nine times out of ten get awarded PIP.
DWP waste millions on a weekly basis with these tribunal when they could just do their job properly and read the doctor’s notes.
My advice would be take a deep breath and take the long view, it’s a process, it grinds long and slow.
He might just get it first time though, miracles do happen.
