Condom broke !!!!!!

I'm so mad with myself honestly but I just have to know these things happen

Me and this guy that I have been talking decided to have sex and the dam condom broke it broke the first time but he never finished we replaced the condom and it broke again but this time we didn't realise and he came inside me 😭😭😭 i'm more worried about STD/STI he reassured me that he's good and there's nothing to worry about but I told him you can say anything i'm quite the over thinker now I have to wait 4 weeks i'm dying inside I asked him to do a test as it's free so I can calm my mind but he keeps saying he's fine i'm good

If he's saying he's fine and not doing a test - he's not fine.

You need to go to the clinic yourself and get Both a pregnancy and full STD as screen.

I think it’s a red flag that he won’t take a test, just to put your mind at ease

also, it’s very strange that both comdoms broke. Are you sure that they aren’t out of date and that you were putting them on correctly? Definitely something to figure out before next time

@ThreeAmingos a little update he has offered to take a test so i'm happy about that he even ordered the test to my house and he said we will take it together so that's eased my mind so we will see hopefully he sticks to his words

He's probably is fine, as just embarrassed at the thought of doing a test, I would get him the test and ask him again to do it. I would also go to local clinic and get checked.

@TheAirRunningOut i'm guessing the condoms was just to small for his size bec i'm pretty sure it was on properly and yes it's very strange that it happened twice that's the only thing that I don't understand it's very weird

Were the condoms out of date?

As a first aider, I've demonstrated putting my arm in a condom to keep a wound clean. Those things are pretty stretchy. I'm not sure they can be too small.

I agree that they don't break. Sounds like he did use it correctly - ie didn't hold on to it when he withdrew.

im a student midwife and we put plastic baby skulls inside condoms then fill them with water. We then break the condom with an amnihook which is sharp and condoms are tough!

They shouldn’t just break, especially not twice in a row.

who bought them and put them on?

I don’t know if I’m missing something but why wouldn’t you just arrange your own STD test?

Yes they are in date I double checked afterwards i'm wondering if he broke it himself or maybe i'm just over thinking I dunno 😔 but he was doing it really hard it's crazy

@Coconutter24 because I can see if he was clean on the time of our intercourse together and of course I will still get my test done but the wait period is 2-4 weeks you can't know if you have anything before that time unfortunately

@UpUpUpU I got them free from the nhs at gp office I put them on but we was having difficulties at first maybe I didn't put it on correct I'm not sure we have to stretch it a few times to place it on the tip of his penis because it really wasn't going on

Maybe your nail caught it? I don't use them so not sure how strong they are.
It's a good sign he offered to do a test and seems to be handling it well. If he'd have been shifty afterwards then that would be a major red flag!

@xyz111 yes he's been messaging me and calling me trying to calm me down and said i need him I can contact him he's been very communicative and said everything will be okay and offered to rest so i'm just waiting for this and then I'll also do mine when he's doing his and then 4 weeks later test again

MAP can only stop a pregnancy if the OP hasn't yet ovulated. If she had already ovulated then it can't prevent a pregnancy

Right I see, I thought you were saying you only wanted him to get a test not yourself and that you meant you’d have to wait 4 weeks to see if your morning after pill worked….. it was early when I originally read the post lol

Omg we had 2 break one week apart, it was mortifying going to collect the second MAP 😱
We threw the box away. Never had any problems with them before, so weird and just fucking awful and I stopped wanting to have sex for weeks afterwards because I didn’t want it to happen again.
There’s nothing more you can do now, stop torturing yourself.

OP, some STIs take a lot longer to show up so you will need to get tested again in three months. There is a potential three-month incubation window for syphilis, for example (most cases will test positive before this but you should be tested again after three months to be certain). A negative test now doesn’t mean you don’t have it.

Don’t do the tests at home. Go to your local GUM clinic (Google it) and let them do it for you. They will be able to advise you about the incubation windows for different infections too.

If the condom wouldn’t unroll it sounds like you were trying to put it on inside out, which is a common mistake (I am guessing you’re quite inexperienced?) It is very unusual for condoms to break - it’s more common for them to come off - and for two to break in a row would be incredibly unlikely unless they were out of date or you were using a lubricant which is not suitable for condoms (such as Vaseline). It’s possible one could break if you/he didn’t pinch the end when putting it on, but again it’s unlikely. Did you actually see the holes in the condoms? If the only reason you think they broke is that the man told you that is what happened, I would say he’s covering up not using them properly (you must always hold on to a condom when withdrawing to avoid it coming off).

I would buy yourself a pack, read the instructions and practise putting one on a cucumber by yourself. Don’t just rely on a man doing it, it’s very important that both partners know how to correctly put one on and safely remove it.

@Tygertiger yes I don't remember pinching the top so I guess that's what happened ... also the condoms are in date they expire 2028 I tested the condoms myself this morning and it broke I put it on my arm and it snapped so easily so i'm guessing the Gp ones are not so great

Thank you for the tips I will definitely test again in 3 months too
and I will definitely go to the clinic instead

Clinic will check you for BV, thrush, HIV and hopefully trichomoniasis as well so usually the best place and in general, make sure you get your own separate test done - although it's reassuring he's doing his and the results for the big ones will come back.
