Best reins for 7 year old?

Almost 7 year old, we are going to Chessington, later in the year when she will be. I do not fully trust her to not run off at a moment notice. What reins or backpack harness would fit?

Probably look at special needs suppliers.

I'd use one of those wrist straps rather than reins, unless she has significant special needs.
However if you need a pretty secure harness the Hobbledehoo is very good and will fit.

I recommend Hobbledehoo reins/harness for that age .

I used them for my grandson when out and about.

Unless she has special needs I would just use a wrist link - anything more is excessive.

Why can’t you trust your nearly 7 yr old to behave?

Marblessolveeverything · 08/06/2024 16:07

Had your child Special needs? Because it isn't great development wise to have to restrain your child. If SN then I suspect a specialist supplier would be the best.

Thanks to all of those that answered my question.

I would look at something like an air tag instead. You can get things like innersoles to hide them in shoes, or badges to pin on. Somewhere like Chessington will have loads of phone users, so she would be easy to track. It's an enclosed space with official staff who have training for this sort of thing, and plenty of cctv. My then 8 year with additional needs old bolted at a theme park last year and the staff were brilliant.

I would also use a tracker rather than a physical set of reins, or strap at this age.
