Is this the world's most sad beige soft play?

Visiting a friend and she suggested going to her favourite local soft play.

It's a bit out of our way so I googled it.
I mean I assume it won't be as pristine on the day, but fuck me it looks more like someplace for Instamummies than kids to play in

Bright colours can be overstimulating. That’s more nature colours than beige and I actually like it

This^

I'm looking at that and I'm seeing lots of airy space, lots of textures, some nods to nature and nothing over stimulating which soft plays often are. I think it's lovely.

Whitekirk is great - my husband was there with my wee one last week. There's some nice wee bits for little ones (the soft block bit has spaces and holes in the walls so the kids can really build stuff properly, there's some crawling tunnels which they like etc) and there's also some quite challenging bits for older ones (climbing walls, long twisty slide and high level nets which make me a bit nervous!).

Coffee/food is pretty good and the place does loads of events through the year. It's pretty close in price to other places which are a lot less clean.

Love it!!

I'm no griege, minimalist insta-lifestyle type, but that looks quite a pleasant set up. The colour scheme won't affect children's ability to run/ climb/ swing etc, indeed many stimulating outdoor play areas are made from logs and are hardly luridly coloured.

The light, airy and more natural colours look more calming than most lurid primary-coloured soft plays.

There was one we used to go to because the frame was interesting for pre-schoolers and sensibly priced but it was quite dark and dank with undertones of parental despair. The joys of repurposing an old industrial unit!

I love it. I think it's better that the usual ones.

I doubt a kid would think anything either way. They can run around and be crazy? Great! They don't care if one hour is spent in a more neutral setting.

tuvamoodyson · 08/06/2024 19:19

I love it!

yeahit's very insta mummy. Of course it's less overstumulatung... to adults! But newsflash, soft play colour schemes are not aimed at adults. Classic soft play colours are way more fun for kids.

Noosnom · 08/06/2024 21:37

It looks lovely.

Edenmum2 · 08/06/2024 21:39

It looks a million times better than any soft play around me

Meetingofminds · 08/06/2024 21:39

I really like it - very soothing and calming. I hate the brightness and plastic tat feel of the others. I would choose this one every time for my dc.

Beandoodle · 08/06/2024 21:39

Classy soft play! Something the OP must lack! Xx

Why based on what? Children are individuals. Bright gaudy colours can be overstimulating and stressful.

Anneta · 08/06/2024 21:41

It looks lovely, clean and fresh with lots for the children to do.

As an adult I can see the appeal, it looks soothing and clean.
I think given the choice though most kids would pick a soft play that is much more colourful.

frozendaisy · 09/06/2024 06:45

Our kids would've been crawling over the big net for hours having a great time not even contemplating the colour scheme

Go, don't go. Only thing that matters is if the kids have a good time, only one way to find out.
