My son is 2.5 and is very wary of some people. Hes doing it more so now when people he doesn’t know say hi or wave he panics and runs to me

he even panics when we see dog walkers but we have a dog! Haha

hes only confident with immediate family and the nursery staff as he seems them
weekly

but even like Dh’s brother, he sees him every other month so when he does he has a meltdown and panics so we can’t see DH’s brother

But DH’s family compare him to his cousin who’s 2 months younger and not so phased

but I’m sure it’s quite normal to have stranger danger at this age I read? And it would be more concerning if he didn’t ?

Some element of being more reserved / cautious around strangers is normal but what do you mean ‘so we can’t see dh’s brother’? You can’t avoid seeing people because ds is shy around them! Especially family members, think about how you can make him happier around them eg sharing photos, talking about them when you aren’t seeing them, FaceTime etc.

@Icanwalkintheroom Mainly just because he always has a meltdown at DH brother it started when he was like 1.5? We don’t know why he just cries when he sees him and won’t move he clings to me

we’ve tried but It feels awkward and I feel bad for my son who gets distressed

@Icanwalkintheroom When I say awkward I feel it from
DH brother , not me feeling awkward because my sons upset
