Insurance renewal question

I'm renewing our car breakdown cover. As we had 2 call outs last year, the existing policy renewal is huge so I've cancelled the automatic renewal.

When going onto comparison sites, the same company are coming up with a very reasonable even though I've added all my details and the car registration.

I'm wondering that if I just take out a new policy, whether they will cancel it.

Does anyone know please?

And also, can anyone recommend or warn against a breakdown company please

Don't go with RAC they are no longer as quick as they were with callouts.

We have moved to the AA, but have not had any cause to call them out yet.

I don't know if they would cancel the new policy, I don't see why they would as it is a new contract - you would have to read their T&Cs.

We have always looked for a price that the same company we are with offer new customers on the price comparison sites and call the company concerned and they usually match it, if not we cancel the renewal, same as with insurance.

I do this every year and never had a problem at all.

No, they cannot cancel the policy if you have declared the call outs, if asked.

It’s fine to do this, I do it with all policies for insurance, with my car insurance they even said in an email that they’ve seen I have been on a comparison site and are happy to insure me at the lower price.
