Help! Insurance between exchange and completion.

Hi,
Need some fast advice please! Exchanges contracts on new house about half an hr ago but don't complete / move in until 28th June. The house is currently empty.
I know I need buildings ins now as we would be liable if anything happened to it between now and completion.
Do all companies cover for vacant properties in this period? Do I just get BI or contents too? Or leave contents until we actually move our contents in? Is there a company any of you would recommend? The comparison sites aren't helping me with this. Thanks!

Get this moved to Property/DIY, OP. Either report your own post and click ‘other’ and ask there, or do so by tagging @mnhq.

Yes, they will cover you. Most standard insurance policies will cover an unoccupied house for 30 days.

I’ve always just got a buildings and contents policy set up for exchange, even though my contents wouldn’t be in the house for another two weeks…it’s not going to save much, if anything by waiting to set it up later.
