Sore boob(s) and armpit (!?) during peri :(

I could actually cry just walking they get so sore and swollen i cant wear a bra, cant sleep on my side, even wearing a vest hurts 😔 lasts about a week then the relief is bliss.

Other times I notice my left armpit near my boob feels a bit odd, like I've got the start of a cyst that you get sometimes when shaving but near my boob. I can feel something 'pulling' sometimes like a tendon? I check them every day and sometimes convince myself i can feel something then i poke and squeeze around so much i then cause it to hurt more, dp happily checks them (🙄) and he cant feel anything 😩 theres defo no lumps or weird bits, nothing looking unusual, just a weird sensation that also lasts about a week then its fine and I forget until it happens again which can be 2 months later.p

I'm still dithering over HRT as I've had a good couple of months without any of the other 1568 symptoms I get but a recent bout of boob pain is making me wonder if that would help.

Mum suggested evening primrose and starflower oil, which sounds a bit woo....has anyone had any success with these or do I need to just get over myself and go for HRT?

I get similar to this on the build up to my phantom period (I'm now officially in menopause). I still get all the symptoms of PMT and it's sort of cyclical - I just no longer get the periods.

But yeah, sore boobs, generally weird feelings, itchy, random aches. All go away in a few days. I'll feel fine for a bit. Then it starts again. I do firmly believe it's just waffy hormones spiking and dropping - just not enough to trigger a bleed anymore.

FWIW, I'm not on HRT but aren't ruling it out if things become unbearable.

Same here. Also the pulling feeling. I was declared a bit lumpy by GP so was sent to breast clinic but all came back ok. Starflower oil works for me. Plus the consultant said to wear a tight sports bra for three weeks to give them time to recover from being sore. Hope you're ok. Do get checked if at all uneasy

I get this too, and a sort of stabbing pain in the side of my boob. HRT made it worse!

I had sore boobs as one of my worst peri symptoms. Couldn’t touch them. Before I realised I was in peri I found a lump in my armpit and was referred to the breast clinic but they said it was a lymph node. Not sure if it’s related?
HRT has nearly cured the sore boobs. Still get it occasionally but only about 20% of the pain I had.

Evening primrose and ibuprofen gel were very effective for my breast pain. On hrt now and just use the gel for occasional breast pain.

Ah thank you for the replies ladies ☺️

I spoke too soon about not having other symptoms for a while and haven't had a great day today at all and can tell its the start of a 3-4 week stint of crappy symptoms and constant on/off period 😩

I'll get evening primrose oil and ibuprofen gel (that's genius) tomorrow.

I'll mention it to GP I do need to book a follow appointment to chat about HRT I just keep putting it off 😔

Hello, I started starflower capsules two weeks ago and honestly they have really worked for me! I have been getting a lot of pains, boob pain, ovulation pain, awful period pain, all of which I never used to get but these have taken away most of that so far! It's worth a shot trying for a month!
