After a car scrape my fault information

I misjudged a space while driving down a road the other day and scraped a parked car. I left my details and we exchanged reg and insurance details yesterday.

Today they have requested the make model and colour of my car. Ive given it to them but I am wondering now why they want this. Any idea? The exchange has not been that easy I feel that I can ask.

There is not a lot of damage it is a paint scrape they have said so too.

In my experience of making a claim the insurer asks for these details so I'm fairly sure it'll be only for that reason

Thank you @Galliano Never experienced this so after was like "I wonder why" figured someone here might know :)

I guess it is because some cars have fake plates so you get a plate that should be on a blue Audi on a white VW. I would expect it is just part of the process.
