Intensive driving courses - are they worth it?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice about intensive driving courses (I've had a few lessons so have the basics but am by no means an experienced driver).

I'm someone who finds it easy to pick up skills quickly in a shorter time frame and do it safely (due to the sport I participate in and the job I'm working in), but I know lots of people say they just aren't enough time to become a confidant and competent driver?

My instinct is this would be the best way for me to learn, but lots of people around me seem to lean away from them so any advice would be appreciated.

(My older sister - four years older) took an intensive driving course and waited a few weeks to have more practise before booking her test, other family members and friends who can drive all took traditional lessons)

I found it useful. I had a few lessons but preferred the cram it all in approach. Took my test on the last day.

Same as @Pollipops1 I had a few lessons then did the intensive and it worked brilliantly for me.

My husband did one - found it online with perfect dates for a Mon - Fri and sleeping in a hotel. However, it was in a new city. He failed.

I think if you know your surroundings towns / local area it’s bound to be easier ….

Just to add my course was in a part of London I didn’t know at all or had had previous lessons was in but the routes were relatively straightforward.

It's much better to have more road experience than to cram it all in
