Help me write this email

I interviewed for a job last week Monday. I think it went well, if i say so myself. I was told i'll hear back from them this week.

I am trying to compose an email to the recruiter tomorrow as I don't think they'll be ringing me today, seeing as it's closing time.

What's the best way to enquire about the outcome without sounding too desperate?

Subject: Follow-Up on [Job Title] Interview
Dear [Recruiter's Name],
I hope this email finds you well.
I am writing to follow up on the status of my application for the [Job Title] position. I had the pleasure of interviewing with your team on [Interview Date], and I remain very excited about the opportunity to potentially join [Company Name].
I understand that you mentioned I would hear back by this week and wanted to check in to see if there have been any updates regarding my application status. I am still very enthusiastic about the possibility of contributing to your team and am eager to hear about the next steps in the process.
Thank you once again for considering my application. I look forward to your response.
Best regards,

Don't write 'potentially join'! It's a split infinitive.
There are other bits I would never write (hope this finds you well) but the split infinitive just makes me cringe.

ChatGPT ought to be ashamed of itself! Another reason to do things oneself.....

Justcallmebebes · 07/06/2024 05:49

Yeah, God no don't write that!

Pontipinecity · 07/06/2024 05:50

Agree don’t go with ChatGPT version. You can take small bits from it but it would make you sound like a twat.

Justcallmebebes · 07/06/2024 05:51

Something along the lines of " further to my interview with you/your panel on 3 June for position of chef, I would be grateful for an update. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards"

Don't be flowery and emotive

LongSinceGotUpAndGone · 07/06/2024 05:52

Dear recruiter,

I'm following up on my recent interview with XYZ co; please could you let me know if there's an update, as I was told I'd hear by the end of this week?

Kind regards ...

If they said they'd contact you this week, don't chase this week. If you've got the job they'll be in touch. If you have to, chase after their deadline, I.e. next week.

BingoMarieHeeler · 07/06/2024 06:20

Wait until Monday surely? It’s only 6am on Friday.

Listen to this poster.

It’s still within the timeframe OP. I know it’s annoying waiting and wondering but hold off until Monday at least.

RandomUsers · 07/06/2024 12:32

Thanks all, I will wait until next week before making contact
